GEO / AI-Search Audit (Claude Skill)
Free Claude Skill, MIT licensed. Built from the GEO/AEO audit and fixes on alexandranace.com.
Short description
Grades a website for how well ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and AI Overviews can find, trust and quote it, then gives a prioritised fix list.
Detailed description
A Claude Skill plus a no-dependency Node checker. It flags JSON-LD questions, answers and names that never appear on the visible page (the most common structured-data policy breach), missing or duplicated meta descriptions, unstable h1s, robots rules for AI crawlers, llms.txt and sitemap gaps, and thin pages. Claude then runs a manual pass (entity identity, answerable sentences, server-rendered related links, evidence and freshness) and returns a weighted letter grade. Where it comes from: My own site graded C+ on this audit. Its FAQ existed only as JSON-LD, 37 of 38 pages shared one meta description, and the homepage h1 rotated on every request. I fixed each finding, and the checklist is what came out of that.
What I use it for
Auditing a site for AI search (GEO/AEO) before or after a redesign, and checking that structured data never outruns what the page shows.
