What it does
Answers visitors' questions about my work from this site's published content, with links to the pages it used.
Why I built it
Visitors ask the same questions in different words; this answers them from the source instead of a static FAQ.
What goes in
A visitor's question, plus the conversation so far for follow-ups.
What comes out
A short answer with the source pages it drew on.
How it works (steps)
- Retrieve candidates with keyword search and, when available, pgvector embeddings.
- Rerank them and pass the best passages as context, each tagged with its stage (for example
prototype). - Answer under fixed claim rules.
- If the model is unavailable, a deterministic path quotes published text instead of generating.
How well it works
34 answer evaluation cases pass in all three modes: with the model, deterministic, and streaming.
